Background

Abraham Shannon intended to have a mausoleum built during the 1870s but died before work commenced. It was completed by his wife, Eliza in 1876.^[1] The mausoleum was entered onto the (South Australian) Register of State Heritage Items on 27 September 1990.^[2]
